Recent advances in flame retardant epoxy systems from reactive DOPO–based phosphorus additives

چکیده

• Reactive DOPO derivatives do not leach during fire use in epoxy products. exhibit dual gas and condensed phase activity. Self–extinguishing smoke suppression are exhibited via aromatic hardeners. Epoxy resins widely applied industry for producing safe materials. Unfortunately, have the disadvantage of being highly flammable thus require suitable modifications with reactive or non-reactive flame retardant additives. Recent literature shown that 9,10–dihydro–9–oxa–10–phosphaphenanthrene–10–oxide (DOPO) most researched retardants resins. Both classes generally endow high thermal stability, non–oxidative character, water resistance excellent retardancy through generation phosphorus based flame-inhibiting species phase. The non–reactive may lead to leaching from resin use. Thus gained importance, where they either directly coupled form monomers a pre-reaction, as curing agent hybrid structure. This review focuses mainly on noteworthy technological advances this area which been published past ten years.

Synthesis of a Novel Phosphorus-containing Flame Retardant for Epoxy Resins

In this study, a novel phosphorus-containing flame retardant copolymer of spirocyclic pentaerythritol di(phosphate monochloride) and bisphenol S (SPD-BS) was successfully synthesized and used as a flame retardant in diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) epoxy resins. The chemical structure of the SPD-BS was characterized using FT-IR and H NMR spectra. The thermal properties were investigated ...

Flame-retardant polyvinyl alcohol membrane with high transparency based on a reactive phosphorus-containing compound

Flame-retardant polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membranes with high transparency and flexibility were prepared by mixing an aqueous solution of a phosphorus-containing acrylic acid (AOPA) with PVA. The reaction between AOPA and PVA, the transparency, the crystallinity and the flexibility of the membrane were investigated with Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), UV-vis light transmittance, X...

Recent Advances in the Anionic Photocurable Epoxy/Thiol-Ene Systems

to several advantages including superior mechanical properties, chemical and heat resistance, low shrinkage, high adhesivity and low toxicity [1]. However, one of the main drawbacks is the inherent fragility due to the high level of crosslinking in these materials. Because of this aspect, several methods to improve their toughness have been reported [2,3]. Our research group focused on improvin...

Design and UV-curable behaviour of boron based reactive diluent for epoxy acrylate oligomer used for flame retardant wood coating

Difunctional boron-containing reactive flame retardant for UV-curable epoxy acrylate oligomer was synthesized from phenyl boronic acid and glycidyl methacrylate. The synthesized reactive diluent was utilized to formulate ultraviolet (UV)-curable wood coatings. The weight fractions of reactive diluent in coatings formulation was varied from 5 to 25 wt % with constant photoinitiator concentration...
